Researchers have discovered that chocolate can prevent
damage to the teeth. This
was so successful in combating decay that scientists believe some of the
components that may one day be added to mouthwash or toothpaste.
The study, which was conducted by researchers at Osaka
University in Japan, found that frustrate parts of cocoa beans, the main
ingredient of chocolate, mouth bacteria and tooth decay.
They found that the cocoa bean shell - wasting the outer
part of the bean, which is usually in chocolate production - anti-bacterial
effect on the mouth and may be effective against plaque and other harmful substances.
Caries occurs when bacteria in the mouth again in acid,
which cause the surface of the teeth and tooth decay damages.
Japanese scientists have found that chocolate compensated
no less harmful than many other sweet foods, as antibacterial agents in cocoa
beans, sugar high.
After three months, the study found that the rates with a high sugar diet had 14 holes on average, compared to only get six cavities than those skin cocoa beans in their diet.

The researchers plan to test their results in humans. In an interview with New Scientist magazine said Takashi
Ooshima, Osaka University, their findings could lead to new treatments for
caries.
"It may be possible to use mouthwash CBH extracts or
supplements for a toothpaste."
It could even be brought back into the chocolate to make
it better for the teeth, he said:
"You certainly have an effect, but good oral
hygiene, instead of eating a lot of chocolate, is the way to good and healthy
teeth."
A spokesman for the British Dental Association said:
"If it is true that chocolate does not contribute to tooth decay and
cavities, which can only be a good thing, but keep in mind that chocolate
contains sugar.
"Our advice remains the same: if people want to eat
sweets and sweet drinks, they should limit it, and visit your dentist
regularly."
